My Locs are dry and brittle, what causes this?
The effects of the sun, hair color, products not formulated for natural hair are only some of the reasons for dry and brittle Locs. In your consultation we will perform a hair analysis and determine what your Locs need and design a recovery plan exclusively for you.
I have relaxed my hair myself for years, but recently I’ve noticed that my hair is breaking and appears to be thinning, Should I do a protein treatment?
Please don’t give yourself a protein treatment. If you do, you run the risk of causing more breakage. Performing chemical services yourself is never advised, I recommend a hair and scalp analysis by a licensed cosmetologist.
Some of my Locs are holding on by a few strands of hair, can they be saved or do I need to cut them and start over?
Our Loc repair techniques can restore broken and fragile Locs. We utilize different methods to repair your Locs, cutting and starting over is only done when absolutely necessary. The method best for you will be determined during your consultation.
I have relaxed hair and I’m feeling the urge to add some color, is this possible without damaging my hair?
You can have your relaxed hair colored safely if you have it done professionally. If you have your hair colored, you will need to have your hair shampooed and conditioned with moisture infused products weekly in order to prevent damage. A licensed cosmetologist will provide a hair analysis to determine if your hair can be safely colored.
What techniques do you use to start Locs?
Comb twist, two-strand twist, braids (your natural hair), interlocking and extensions (kinky twist) for those ladies that need a little extra hair to get started.
I need a change from my afro, what styles can be done on my natural hair?
Natural hair clients have more style options than ever before. In your consultation we will determine what styles fit your lifestyle and personality and create a beautiful style for you.
I’m on my natural hair journey, but my natural hair is thick and hard to manage. I miss the straight look of relaxed hair; can I use a straightening comb to achieve the look I want without damaging my hair?
Pressing comb straightening is not recommended for clients to perform at home.
We use a technique called Ceramic Fusion that infuses moisture into your hair, leaving your hair straight from root to ends. This technique is ideal for the client that wants bounce and shine while maintaining the integrity of the hair.
